The Opera Theatre in the atrium is a magnificent display featuring hundreds of lights to look like a galaxy of stars

Bringing together 100 creative powers to work towards a single goal is no mean feat, but K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong did just that, and in doing so has changed the face of retail forever.

The brainchild of Adrian Cheng and dubbed the ‘Silicon Valley of Culture’, K11 MUSEA sits on the waterfront in Tsim Sha Tsui in an elegant, sculptural building designed by some of the world’s leading architects, and inside, there’s even more to discover.

As you step into the new K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong, you soon realise that you’re somewhere special. Unlike any other retail destination you’ve visited, this space places an emphasis on sustainability, design, art and impeccable retail outlets.

A ground-breaking project that was ten years in the making, renowned architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates led the design for the building, with local studios such as LAAB also showcasing their unique designs throughout. Around every corner, art-like sculptures created by the likes of Speirs and Major and One Bite Design Studio are just waiting to inspire you, and be captured on camera to feed your ‘Gram.

The project sits at the heart of the Hong Kong harbourfront

On the rooftop, James Corner Field Operations has taken inspiration from the surroundings to create a space unlike any other in Hong Kong. The Bohemian Garden spreads across two levels on the top of the building, giving guests green space to enjoy the outdoors, and play areas for children filled with wonderfully quirky equipment (including a giant peacock slide by Danish firm MONSTRUM!)

Sustainable spaces for young and old

On the 8th floor, Nature Discovery Park is Hong Kong’s first ever sustainability-themed education park and biodiversity museum. Guests at K11 MUSEA can opt to take a tour of the park, which showcases local plants and explains their unique ecological values and also introduces the rooftop farm that demonstrates the future direction of food production.

Children and adults alike can also join a range of environmental courses run in conjunction with The Jane Goodall Institute (Hong Kong) at the park. And when they’ve finished learning more about our precious planet, you can let them loose at the Donut Playhouse, a space full of edutainment, interactive games and a giant indoor slide designed by Denmark designer, Ole Barslund Nielsenb.

Of course, as well as the sheer beauty of K11 MUSEA there are a whole host of design-led international retail and F&B outlets just waiting for you to discover.
