The latest case of the coronavirus (Case 47) involves a Bangladesh national that is a contact of an earlier case (Case 42).

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), they both worked at 10 Seletar Aerospace Heights.

Which is the site of Canadian aerospace firm Bombardier’s Singapore Service Centre.

Both of them are Singapore Work Pass holders and have no recent travel history to China.

Responding to enquiries from Mothership, Bombardier confirmed that the two men were indeed working as subcontractors for a third-party contractor at the Singapore Service Centre expansion site.

Public Relations and Communications Manager Anna Cristofaro also told Mothership that the health and safety of their employees is a top priority for Bombardier.

They will continue “to take the necessary steps to ensure (their) operations and employees remain safe”.

They are also collaborating closely with local health authorities to ensure the necessary health protocols are followed.

According to Bombardier, the two men worked as subcontractors on expansion sites located at 7 and 8 Seletar Aerospace Heights respectively. They also apparently never entered the main Service Centre building located at 10 Seletar Aerospace Heights.

In 2019, Bombardier announced that their service centre in Singapore will quadruple in size by 2020.
