We’re no strangers to upsizing our meals.
Whether it be us upsizing for McDonald’s seaweed shaker fries
Or KFC making the choice for us by Mighty-ing up their Zinger burgers.
P/S: If you’re wondering whether you should go for the KFC upsized Zinger Burger, we’ve tried it for you.
You can read the article here.
But now, for the first time in history…
You can buy an upsized burger at a cheaper price.
You heard that right.
It’s BIGGER and CHEAPER.
Who’s offering you such a good deal?
Why, none other than the King, of course.
Burger King Announces Upsized WHOPPER® Beef Patty
On 17 October 2019, Burger King made a daring announcement:
They’re going to upsize the WHOPPER® Beef Patty. Instead of the usual 4oz beef patty, it’s now going to weigh at 4.4oz.
About a ten percent increase.
They promise that the new beef patties will be bigger, juicier and tastier.
But that’s not the most impressive part.
Oh no. There’s more.
It’s Going To Be Cheaper Too
Previously a WHOPPER® value meal will set you back by $8.70. After the announcement, the same meal will cost you only $7.90.
That’s right: bigger and cheaper.
The best part? No finicky T&Cs, what you see is what you get.
Now you know why they’re called the king?
Exclusive BK T-Shirts Up For Grabs
If you’re as much a fan of BK as my boss is, then you’re going to be really interested in their BK-exclusive T-shirts.
They have both the white version with Burger King’s usual colour scheme.
And a tastefully-designed black version.
Each T-shirt will set you back by $20 and they’re available in S, M and L sizes.
So you’re thinking, wait, so expensive?!
Well, here’s one more reason to get it.
It’s Actually For A Good Cause
For the next three months, Burger King is doing a fund-raiser for the Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN).
It’s a social service agency that provides special education for people with mild intellectual disability.
For every T-shirt sold, $14 used to:
- Enable the enhancement of programmes to tailor to the needs of APSN’s beneficiaries
- Enable persons with special needs to seek continuous training and re-skilling for open employment
- Allow APSN to provide social and emotional support through counselling, behavioural modification, and other methods.
Doing a good deed and getting a well-designed t-shirt out of it? Count me in.
