IKEA is known for many things: its food, its IG-worthy knives, its soft toys and sometimes, its furniture.
And if you belong to the person who’d cry for IKEA food on your dying bed, then here’s a piece of goody news for you: this Thursday, the restaurant-first-and- furniture-shop-second is having a 12.12 promotion, because why not?
$1 for 2 Chicken Wings
There’s just something about IKEA chicken wings that keep us wanting for more.
Whether it’s the perfectly fried skin or the always-hot temperature, it’s a must-have after you’ve queued for like forever in the restaurant.
On 12 December, the wings will be going for 2 for $1 (i.e. $0.50 per wing).
For comparison’s sake, the original price is $8 for 6 pieces, which mean one wing’s at about $1.33.
So you’re essentially saving more than 60%.
There are some conditions to fulfil, though: you need to be an IKEA Family member. But fret not; it’s free to sign up, though I’m pretty sure 99% of you are already a member for the discounted food.
And for every card, you’re limited to just six portions.
Good enough, because I won’t suggest you going all out on its OG wings.
Salted Egg Chicken Wings Still Available
Lest you’re unaware, IKEA has jumped on the salted egg bandwagon as well and given that they set a high standard for their food, their salted egg chicken wings are indeed goody.
And I’m saying this not based on hearsay but experience.
Having tried it twice, I can proudly say that it’s earned a goody praise from a non-salted-egg fan like me. It’s essentially just the OG chicken wing bathed with salted egg sauce, and the sauce is fresh and creamy with a strong salted egg taste, very unlike a certain fast-food restaurant salted egg fries.
So if you’re there, just dabao as many chicken wings as you can (bet you didn’t know that you can dabao, right?) and have the salted egg chicken wing there.
Trust me, your stomach would thank you, because the salted egg wings are only here for a limited time (until 31 December 2019).
