Have you ever looked at a waffle doused in maple syrup with a generous topping of whipped cream and thought, “Yeah, this needs some fried chicken”?
If you have, I’m concerned, but I also have good news for you.
KFC introduces Chicken & Waffles
KFC Singapore is launching their new Chicken and Waffles on 4 September 2019.
We heard that Chicken & Waffles are a popular combination, so we put a twist on our classic — the Original Recipe chicken fillet freshly served with a Belgian waffle on your plate.

In a Facebook post, the fast-food outlet announced it would be adding the popular breakfast combination to their menu.
An American creation
If you’ve heard of this delicious-but-incredibly-unhealthy combo, that’s because it’s a popular breakfast dish in America.
It originated in the 1930s in soul-food restaurants.
This is what it looks like.
Yes, I know. Your mouth is ready but your heart is scared.
As evident from the name, Chicken and Waffles is a combination of sugary waffles drenched in maple syrup served with pieces of fried chicken.
Like most foods in America, it’s incredibly sweet and usually comes with a side of diabetes.
Singapore’s savoury variation
Here though, it seems like it’s more of a savoury dish, with a drizzling of what looks like béchamel-style sauce over a Belgian waffle.
They’re also using their “Original Recipe Chicken Fillet”, so you can be assured of its trademark KFC taste.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to have a bite of this delectable-looking dish.
Last year, KFC America introduced Chicken and Waffles and their products sold out within two weeks.
If the queues at Jollibee are anything to go by, KFC’s latest item with sell out in Singapore within hours.
