Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2020 Is A Grand Revelry Of Fireworks, Carnival Games & Circus Acts
Singapore will welcome the beginning of a new decade – 2020 – with fireworks and jaw-dropping performances.
Marina Bay and the Civic District will have a countdown celebration with a lineup of events from day till night. From fireworks shows to musical performances, and a pets’ carnival, there will be something to look forward to for every member of your family.
Here’s a look at their exciting lineup.
90-min fireworks musical show
Next Tuesday (31 Dec), Star Island Singapore will return with a 90-minute fireworks show in The Float at Marina Bay.
As fireworks light up with the sky with 3D surround sound, the stage will be filled with performances from unicyclists, ballet dancers, and fire performers.
No need to worry about packing snacks for your loved ones. Guests can shop from more than 50 food and retail stalls at the Esplanade Presents: Come Together.
Star-studded performances & 1,000-strong band
Locals who want to party hard should head to The Promontory at Marina Bay for pre-show performances.
Let’s Celebrate 2020 by Mediacorp will boast of performances from celebrities and homegrown talents. Look out for the performances of Jarrell Huang, Aisyah Aziz, Benjamin Kheng, and Jasmine Sokko.
Those who love classical performances can watch The Philharmonic Orchestra at the Concert Hall and Victoria Theatre.
If you ever wanted to witness a Guinness World Record, watch the VOMG Rock Band NYE Party. The 1,000-strong band will showcase a medley of songs that will make you proud of today’s youth.
Family-friendly activities & pets’ carnival
Parents can successfully get their kids away from iPads by checking out the bouncy castles, magic shows, and crafts booths at Starlight at The Lawn. Thanks to Uncle Ringo, thrill-seekers can play carnival games and head to rides with their friends.
The Great Circus of Europe will also have a special New Year’s Eve performance. Expect to witness death-defying stunts and entertaining circus acts.
Pet lovers can also compete with their furry friends at the obstacle race, agility park, and a doggy free-run area at Unwind at Civic District: Pets Pawty.
Hopes & dreams of locals
As we count the days till 2020, you’ll be able to witness light projections that commemorate the New Year in one of the dreamiest ways.
The Fullerton Hotel Merlion, Merlion, and ArtScience Museum will have creative visual facades adapted from artworks by individuals from local social service organisations.
Drawings like starry universes and whimsical worlds represent their hopes and dreams for the future.
Next Sunday (29 Dec), the beneficiaries of Dyslexia Association of Singapore will share their struggle to raise awareness.
Meanwhile, elderly patients and volunteers from Yishun Community Hospital created artworks that will serve as a facade for Merlion and the ArtScience Museum.

Visitors can reach Marina Bay through the MRT via the East-West Line, North-South Line, Downtown Line, and Circle Line. Note that train services will be extended on 31 December.
