With its raw brick walls coloured by graffiti and ultraviolet scribbles, Lulu’s Lounge is one bar with personality. Offering the melodies of jazz, playful twists on classic cocktails and light bar snacks, guests can expect all the characteristics of a 1960s New York backstreet club here. Enjoy inconspicuous post-dinner drinks or let your hair down and dance into the early hours with DJ beats or even burlesque shows. Drinks-wise, you’ll be spoilt for choice with cocktails: Try the Rolling Stone Sour (with gin and apricot brandy) or go for The Morning After, a mix of vodka, menthol gin liqueur and plum bitters.
Lulu’s Lounge, Wed 8pm-3am, Thu 9pm-2am, Fri & Sat 9pm-5am; Pan Pacific Hotel, 7 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039595

Skinny’s Lounge

The thing about Skinny’s is that almost everything is pretty affordable, which makes happy hour last all night long. Its laid-back atmosphere and the main draw, the karaoke room, are bonuses on top of the cocktails and drinks – and that 3am closing time! From beers and wines to glasses of gin and rum, there’s a little bit of everything here. Even cocktail towers like Pimm’s 2.0 with fruits and lemonade for communal toasts.
Skinny’s Lounge, Mon-Fri 5pm-3am, Sat 7pm-4am; #01-02, 82 Boat Quay, Singapore 049870

BQ Bar

“We’re only having one drink” is a blatant lie we constantly tell ourselves when we’re chillin’ at BQ Bar. The fact of the matter is, we usually end up getting round after round of cocktails, beer buckets and group shots, ‘cos we just love the vibe and the exuberant crowd at this party-centric bar. Tip: Arrive before 10pm to score a seat at the breezy outdoor area.
BQ Bar, Mon-Thu 11am-midnight, Fri 11am-3am, Sat 5pm-3am, Sun 5pm-1am; 39 Boat Quay, Singapore 049828

In line with the relocation of its iconic superclub, the Zouk brand has branched out with Red Tail, a bar and kitchen for pre- and post-party nibbles. Sit and sip on everything from beers and ciders to wines and champagnes to signature cocktails while sharing a couple of plates with your group.

Boomarang

Serving up drinks till 3am, our favourite Australian hangout is only closed for four hours before they open again for breakfast. Expect to see regular screening of live matches from various sporting tournaments here, which is great ‘cos you can celebrate your win (or drown your sorrows if your team loses) all through the night.
Boomarang, daily 6pm-3am; two locations including Boat Quay and Robertson Quay

Highlander

The Scottish drinking den plays a mix of rock and roll tunes that’ll get you singing in no time. It’s really no wonder that you’ll see patrons dancing until closing time. This is where you’ll let your hair down and get jiggy with your mates over a couple of cold pints or a dram of whisky or two.
