The two and a half storey building – located at the heart of Orchard Road – is home to a retail space, incubation centres for design startups and even has a rooftop amphitheatre. Le Salon by Ling Wu
Enter Singapore’s first “apartmentique” an apartment-style showroom by local bag designer Ling Wu. The retail space at Chip Bee Gardens makes you feel right at home but with the choice of shopping! Apart from the gorgeous luxury handbags, you’ll find under-the-radar brands, niche fragrance home objects, fine jewellery and vintage accessories with new designers popping up every six months. Definitely a far cry from your standard boutique.

We’ve been fans of Actually since forever, so naturally, we’re going to tell you that this cutting-edge multi-label lifestyle store is a definite can’t-miss. The outlet in Orchardgateway is Actually’s biggest one to date and their best one yet with a slew of the coolest clothing and accessories from brands like Fjallraven Kanken, Spitfire, and Dr. Denim Jeansmaker that’ll tempt even the most hardened shopper. Gallery & Co.
Unlike your typical souvenir shop at the exit of a museum, this painfully hip retail-art-F&B space is the brilliant work of & Co., consisting of local industry heavweights Loh Lik Peng of Unlisted Collection, Yah-Leng Yu and Arthur Chin of Foreign Policy Design, and Alwyn Chong of Luxasia. Spanning the entire frontage of the City Hall Wing on the ground floor, it offers drool-worthy, well-designed products including books, design collectibles, and quirky slogan tees, as well as savoury bites, cakes, coffee, and sweets at the cafeteria.

Nana & Bird
Set up by two fashion-loving best friends, this humble little local shop tucked away in a quiet corner of the hip Tiong Bahru eestate offers charming little trinkets and edgy, up-to-date fashion pieces for the ladies. Look out for fab Singapore label Aijek and Malaysian designer label, Cassey Gan.

Kapok
If you want to know what’s trending, head to kapok. The super cool cult lifestyle and design boutique from Hong Kong delivers quality goods from an assortment of hip brands, sourced in Singapore and from around the world. While popular names like Common Projects and Daniel Wellington are found here, you’ll likely leave with a new favourite from an under-the-radar brand. We don’t blame you.

City of Tomorrow
The future of shopping is here. City of Tomorrow is all about the experience, with seven themed zones curated with different brands. Over in the Queen’s Room, you’re invited to shop lingerie and evening wear, before kicking off your heels and sinking your feet with the massage machine provided. Tropical Paradise is where all the Instagram action is at, with wooden swings and rattan chairs to accompany the bohemian beach dresses and accessories on display.

This fashion playground is inspired by the stalls of London’s Kensington Market in the ’70s and ’80s.
