Singapore news today | Man Arrested For Suspected Case Burning Singapore Flags In Woodlands


A 25 year old man was arrested by the police on Wednesday, just two days before National Day, for a suspected case of burning the Singapore flag. The Police were first alerted by the public about a case of a number of Singapore flags burnt.

The burnt flags were found at Block 774 Woodlands Crescent. The police immediately swung into action, with the aid of cctv images and ground enquiries, and the man was immediately identified by the Woodlands Police Division. The man was subsequently arrested.

He will be charged in court today. Under the Section 435 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, if the man is found guilty, he may face up to seven years in jail and a fine.
