Singapore news today | PMD Again The Culprit As Fire Breaks Out At AMK Flat

On Monday afternoon, yet another fire broke out at a HDB flat, this time at block 224 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. About 60 residents of the block had to be evacuated when the fire broke out at about 3:05pm. The fire, which had originated from a 4th floor unit of the block, was still raging when SCDF officers arrived on the scene.

SCDF said in a statement on its Facebook age that the fire was put out using one water jet, and the fire involved the contents of the entire unit. Four people, including three children, had to be rescued from the neighbouring unit, while about 60 people were evacuated from the affected block.

Based on preliminary investigations, the fire was started by a PMD that was placed in the kitchen. It was not known if the PMD was in the process of having been charged when the fire broke out.
