In this world where interactions are replaced by text messages and phones, it can be a bit… disorienting for social life.
Yes, table for one please…
*Waiter looks at me with eyes of pity*
Such, is the life of a poor man who’s too poor to date and too ugly to attract the ladies. It’s an existence of sadness. My life? Not interesting enough to form noticeable friendships.
Because there’s now a Shabu Shabu restaurant at JB that forces you to sit alone… but it’s opposite a stranger where your tables are blocked by a slideable divider.
Happiness Mini Shabu Shabu (Xing Fu Xiao Guo) in Johor Bahru
The translation for their name is Happiness Mini Hotpot – There’s No Lonely Hotpot. And really, you won’t be lonely when you arrive here.
See what I mean:
You can even meet a rabbit:
Zooming out, you can see that the set up of the restaurant are single booths as well as some normal tables for the larger groups.
If the surprise date/friend-making session isn’t enough of a reason for you, here’s another one: it’s cheap.
Set Meals Start From RM21.90 (~S$7.30)
What is shown here isn’t from their official menu, but someone from Facebook, so check the prices if you do go there.
It’s one soup base per person, and you can choose from pork bone, white pepper, satay, laksa, tomato, pumpkin and more.
For sauces, there’s scallion oil (香葱油), special spicy sauce (特调香辣), chilli garlic sauce (蒜蓉辣椒酱), and others.
There’s also drinks, which includes bubble tea, and ice cream.
62&63 Jalan kenanga 29/5 indahpura 81000 indahpura kulai
It’s about 40 minutes from City Square. But hey, there’s always Grab.
Sunday – Thursday 12PM – 11PM
Friday – Saturday 12PM – 1AM
And So…What’re You Waiting For?
There’s no need to call your makankakis for this, cause for all you know going there alone will net you a new friend or a date.
Time to plan for a solo JB trip.
As for the people I might meet there…
Haha! You can’t swipe me away now!
Or maybe the reason why I haven’t been getting matches was that those dating apps only have bots swiping away everything they see.
Maybe it’s really as they say, “there are no girls on the internet”.
Hotpot… here I come.
