Filipino national among 4 new confirmed cases, 2nd foreign domestic worker to be infected – – News from Singapore, Asia and around the world


A Filipino woman, 41, was among the four new cases announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Saturday, Feb. 29.

She is the second domestic worker to be infected with Covid-19.

The first domestic worker to be infected with Covid-19 is Case 21, a 44-year-old Indonesian woman. She recovered from the infection on Feb.18.

Filipino foreign domestic worker and employer infected

Case 102 is a 41-year-old female Filipino national and Singapore Work Pass holder.

She has no recent travel history to mainland China, Daegu and Cheongdo.

She is Case 101’s foreign domestic worker.

Case 101 is a 61 year-old Singaporean man. He is linked to Case 93, a 38 year-old Singaporean man. 

The foreign domestic worker was confirmed to have Covid-19 on Feb. 29 morning and is currently warded in an isolation room at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

4 new cases and 3 more discharged

The total number of confirmed cases in Singapore as of Feb. 29 is 102.

The foreign domestic worker (Case 102) and three other new cases (Cases 99, 100 and 101) announced on Feb. 29 are linked to a new cluster at Wizlearn Technologies Pte Ltd, located at 10 Science Park Road.

In all, eight confirmed cases (Cases 93, 95, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, and 102) are now linked to the cluster.

This makes it the third largest cluster after Grace Assembly of God (23 confirmed cases) and Yong Thai Hang (9 confirmed cases).
