If you’re down for something different, the spicy muy chocoliente milkshake and chipster shake (made with potato chips!) are ones to try. Sometimes all you need is some mind-numbing spicy fare and we are talking about hotpots. Be warned: It’s a long wait to dine at this Sichuan-based restaurant (mostly over an hour), but if you’re looking for fiery hotpot, the wait is worth it. If you can handle the heat, choose the numbing mala soup base and say goodbye to any sensation in your mouth (it’s the best). Hai Di Lao is also known for its theatrics, as staff will flamboyantly stretch noodles right in front of you like a twirling martial artist.

A tiny, dinner-only space that seats just 25 people, Nagomi is an omakase restaurant that has been around for many years. Because it’s an omakase, there are no fixed menus and it changes according to the latest shipments of ingredients and fresh fish from Japan.
