Welcome to the playground of the rich and fabulous. Tucked away in Singapore’s most coveted postcode, W Singapore’s star is its WET pool. It’s one of the largest resort outdoor pools with underwater speakers and a pool bar little wonder why it’s the destination for the hotel’s notorious Endless Summer pool parties. The Hard Rock Hotel chain kicked off to much fanfare in the 90s, and that T-shirt can now be picked up all around the world, but our Sentosa outpost is a modern take. It still brings on the rock royalty vibes with fantastic photography of the icons (expect black and whites of Hendrix in your room) wall art of electric guitars, a cool pool bar, and dark, sleek finishes. In the suites, the first round of the minibar is on them. But, if you’re a little less rock star than you used to be, Hard Rock is also surprisingly family friendly the tweens in particular get a kick out of this place thanks to the huge pool…

Siloso Beach Resorts ups the game on eco-luxury with its environmental measures. Much care was taken to keep the natural environment intact; minimal digging was done with more than 200 trees preserved, and 450 new ones planted on-site. Food is derived from local sources only to minimise the resort’s carbon footprint in transporting goods, while the swimming pool’s water comes from a natural spring reservoir. As far as aesthetics goes, Hotel Michael does it best. Everything, right down to the mosaic shower tiles, is inspired by America’s greatest contemporary architect, Michael Graves.
